NADRA suspends 57 member of Welfare Association
Karachi—The administration of NADRA has suspended almost 57 office bearers of
Employees Welfare Association for steering the campaign for confirmation of some 13000 contractual staffers. Whereas the sacked employees have filed an application in National Industrial Relation Commission (NIRC) for seeking permission to constitute Union in NADRA.

The Provincial President Sindh of the Welfare Association Zia Khan, while talking to the media, expressed hope that NIRC would grant them permission to form trade union in NADRA on next hearing , which would be held on 15 June. He said that that the pledges made by President Asif Ali Zardari , Federal Minister Syed Khurshid Shah and senior leader of PPP Faryal Talpur to regularise the contract employees of NADRA could not be fulfilled .
He said that the NADRA management has terminated 61 active leaders of Welfare Association, out of which four officers were reinstated after submitting their written apology.—Online
Balochistan Assembly for regularisation of NADRA employees
QUETTA: The Balochistan Assembly on Tuesday unanimously adopted a resolution, demanding the 
provincial government approach the federal government for regularising the services of National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) employees and reinstatement of the sacked employees.

The resolution was tabled by Provincial Balochistan for Revenue Zamarkh Khan Achakzai and Speaker Aslam Bhootani presided over the session on Tuesday.
The minister stated that Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani and Interior Minister Rehman Malik had promised that the services of NADRA employees would be regularised, however, the promise was yet to be fulfilled. Therefore, the provincial government should approach the federal government and regularise the services of NADRA employees and reinstate the employees those who had been sacked. Besides, he said cases registered against NADRA employees be withdrawn.
Three cops wounded in clash with protesters
Islamabad: Three policemen including station house officer (SHO) of Secretariat Police Station
 sustained injuries in a clash with angry protesters of Nadra, when the agitators stormed into the Red Zone, breaking police barriers on Tuesday evening.


According to police spokesman, Nadra employees, coming from all over the country, gathered at D-Chowk to register their protest against the alleged biased attitude of Nadra chairman. They have been a staging sit-in for the last four days, but Nadra administration refused to listen to their demands. The police resorted to baton-charge and hurled teargas shells to disperse participants of the rally, but the protesters retaliated and started pelting stones at the police.

During the clash, SHO (Secretariat) Hakam Khan and two other cops sustained head injuries and were shifted to the Polyclinic.The police, later, arrested 26 protesters and registered FIR against them.

NADRA contractual employees continue protests

ISLAMABAD: The sit-in protest by scores of contractual employees of the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) entered into its second day at the capital’s D-Chowk area on Monday.

So far, no significant government representative has visited the area to hold a dialogue with the protesters.
The employees under the banner of All-Pakistan NADRA Employees (APNE) vowed to continue their sit-in until their demands for regularisation and reinstatement of their sacked colleagues were met.
Carrying flags and banners inscribed with their demands, the employees hailing from Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Sindh, Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan and Punjab raised slogans against NADRA’s chairman throughout the day.
Speaking on the occasion, APNE office-bearers Ghulam Murtaza, Rao Nadeem, Asif Bashir, Fiazullah Karkar and Faiz Ahmad Anjum said the sit-in would continue until their demands are met.
They said workers of the APNE will also observe a countrywide shutter-down protest to press the government for their regularisation. They have vowed not to return to work until their demands were met.
Around 15,000 NADRA employees working on contract basis across the country for the last 12 years are now running from pillar to post for their regularisation. In this regard, they also observed a countrywide strike from February 20 to 26.
The strike ended after the assurances given to them by President Asif Ali Zardari’s sister MNA Faryal Talpur.
Meanwhile, NADRA has fired 61 employees from various divisions because of their alleged involvement in making unions and creating problems for the organisation.
To pacify their demands, the NADRA chairman issued a notification, which extended the contracts of all employees, until their retirement.
But, the APNE had rejected the notification saying they would not be entitled to any pension if they retired as contractual employees even after working for the authority until their retirement age.

ISLAMABAD, Oct 17 (APP): Minister for Interior, Rehman Malik on Monday announced that services of all contract employees of National 
Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) in different categories have been regularized.Reading out a notification at a ceremony organized here by workers of NADRA, he also announced a housing scheme for more than 14,000 employees of the organization under which 50 per cent finances would be provided by NADRA as advance while the remaining would be arranged through banks.The advance amount would be deducted from the employees salaries.  The Minister highlighted manifesto of PPP which is to ensure employment for unemployed people.


1000 contractual employees of KP NADRA to be regularized

PESHAWAR: More than 1000 contract employees of NADRA Khyber Pakhtoonkhwa would be regularized.
As per details, Federal Government had approved the recommendations of National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) to regularize 4000 of its employees nation wide by March 31. Out of these 4000 contract employees more than 1000 belong to KP.
Federal government constituted a committee in this connection which issued the directives to provide permanent job to all these employees on merit. Committee visited the KP, Sindh, Balochistan and FATA for reviewing the performance of contract employees and submitted its report in Interior Ministry.
Committee recommended its report and requested the Ministry to provide the permanent job to all those employees who are working on contract employees from last four years. These employees will be promoted to one to three grades.
